1.  How do I become a member of Trading with Teachers?

» Just click Register and it will take you to the form to become a member
2.  Is there a cost to become a member of Trading with Teachers?

» It is free to become a member
3.  Who is eligible to become a member?

» At Trading with Teachers we consider everyone a teacher, therefore everyone is eligible to become a member
4.  If everyone is eligible then why call it Trading with Teachers?

» There is no other online trading site focused just on teachers. We know that a large percentage of items that teachers may be trading are also desired by parents, homeschool families, family child care providers, faithbased programs and so many other individuals, organizations and programs. We wanted to have the opportunity for everyone to trade valuable educational materials that would benefit children from every aspect possible.
5.  Are these even trades? Meaning, do I have to find someone that has what I want and hope they want what I have?

» No, the items posted are put into a trading pool where anyone can request any item posted. This makes it easier to find what you are looking for quickly and efficiently
6.  How do credits work?

»

  • 1 credit equals the value of $1.00 to keep it simple

  • When you join, you will automatically receive 5 free credits for becoming a member of Trading with Teachers

  • When you post an item up for trade you will receive 1 free credit just for posting the item

  • When an item you post is traded successfully you will receive the value of credits posted for that item into your account. The receiving member approves the successful trade and your account is credited

7.  What if I don’t have any credits accumulated but would like an item?

»

You can always purchase credits at the value of $1.00 per credit. Just go to the store link and click purchase credits.

We even give you 5 bonus credits if you buy in $20.00 increments. For example for every $20.00 of credits you purchase you will receive an additional 5 bonus credits, how cool is that?

8.  How else can I earn credits?

»

Refer a friend. For every friend that you refer you will receive 5 credits once they post an item up for trade.

Transfer credits to other members. Credits can be transferred from one member to another. Go to transfer credits and follow the instructions to transfer credits.

9.  How do I determine the quality of the item I post?

»

New

Like New - Looks new and is in excellent condition, used only briefly if at all

Good - Used, some minor signs of wear, functions as well as when it was new

Well Used - Clear signs of wear, still functions well, but not as well as it did when new

Needs Repair - Not in acceptable condition to use, can be useable with some repair or work

10.  What are my shipping or delivery options?

»

The requester pays for shipping- The requesting member pays the shipping charges through Trading with Teachers and the posting member prints a prepaid preaddressed shipping label and ships the item

Local trade – The trading members arrange a local trade to avoid shipping costs.  The traders communicate the trade via e-mail.  Once the requesting trader has made the successful trade they will post this on Trading with Teachers so that the poster can receive their credits

11.  How do I list books by using the ISBN feature?

» Trading with Teachers has integrated a ISBN book feature into the program so that when you want to post a book, you will just type in the ISBN number from the book.  The picture and description of the book will come up.  You will determine the quality of the book and the credits you would like to receive for the book.
12.  What if the book I am posting doesn’t have an ISBN number?

» You will have to post the book like any other item by taking the picture and writing the description
13.  How many pictures can I post of each item?

» As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words” therefore the more pictures you take of the item you post the better chance you will have of it being requested.  You can post up to 3 pictures and we recommend “more is better” so put up 3 pictures if you can
14.  How do I ship an item?

»

The United States Postal Service (USPS) and FedEx Ground have been integrated into the Trading with Teachers site so shipping is easy. Here are the steps:

  1. Shipping charges are paid through Trading with Teachers by the requesting member

  2. The posting member then prints a prepaid, preaddressed shipping label right from the Trading with Teachers site

  3. The posting member can schedule a time for the shipping provider to pick the package up from their house from the Trading with Teachers site, if shipping via USPS. That member is also free to drop the package off at the closest location if it is easier

  4. The system will automatically send a tracking number and estimated delivery date to the acquiring member

  5. When the package is delivered the system will automatically be updated so the acquiring member can approve the item and the posting member can receive their credits
